Children's Program
The third Sunday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon
in the Smith House
In the Shambhala Buddhist world the warrior is a
person with confidence in their own basic goodness.
They are willing to step beyond aggression into bravery and compassion to help others. Such gallant warriors in training need a place to assemble. The Children's Program is such a place for children and families to gather. The children will be introduced to Shambhala Buddhism and learn to develop confidence and compassion through such activities as arts, crafts, and games. In order to nurture an uplifted environment, we will start our sessions with brief sitting meditation.
At times, members of the Shambhala community will teach basic Shambhala Buddhist teachings, contemplative arts, yoga, dance, sewing, photography, music, and other enriching activities. Check the online calendar to see who's teaching on any given week. If you're interested in teaching a subject or activity, please contact us.
Our children's program usually occurs on the third Sunday of each month from 10 a.m to noon in the Smith House, which is located to the west of our main building. Please keep an eye on the calendar for last minute changes. There is no fee, but donations are welcome.
So please join us. All children and their parents are welcome.
