Join us for this exciting contemplative journey, entering the ground of the visual world through Miksang contemplative photography. Miksang is a Tibetan word meaning the "Good Eye," through which we begin to see our world clearly and directly, dropping our fog of judgments, criticisms, and comparisons. Our explorations in clear seeing will take us through the essential visual elements of color, form, light and space. We will stay at Indian Lodge in the heart of the Davis Mountains, with excursions to Ft. Davis, the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center, and Marfa. The workshop is for beginning and advanced photographers and Miksang practitioners at all levels of practice. The program will be led by Jake Lorfing (http://goslowphotos.com), Patrick Larson (http://patricklarson.com), and Jessica Winslow.
The program begins Thursday evening, October 25, and continues through noon on Sunday, with instruction, assignments, tours, image reviews, and discussions. A digital camera is required.
For more information on Miksang, go to http://miksang.org. For more information on the program, contact Melinda Rothouse at melinda.rothouse@gmail.com. Tuition is $250, plus lodging or camping costs. Thursday’s dinner and daily breakfasts will be provided.
